Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Courses

Lizi receiving dance award form Darcy Bussell CBE

Classes are led by our Head of Dance & Performing Arts, Lizi Mackey who is an RAD registered teacher following her award of Distinction in the RAD Professional Dancer’s Teaching Diploma.

Classes follow the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus at a variety of progressive grades from Pre-Primary in Dance up to Vocational grades to suit both beginners and students who wish to prepare for a career in the performing arts. Open to both male and female students, classes involve training in Classical Ballet, Free Movement and Character Dance (traditional dances from various countries as seen in many famous ballets). Vocational grades also include Pointe work.

Following thorough study, students may be entered into RAD exams which are equivalent to GCSE’s and A levels and are recognised in the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). Senior students may wish to use their qualifications as UCAS points towards university entry. We are pleased to report a 100% exam pass rate in RAD exams.
